Key Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:

  • Lead, manage, hire, and train a crew of approximately 14-20 employees
  • Ensure plant safety and environmental compliance goals are met
  • Ensure production goals are met or exceeded, including yield, throughput, and quality
  • Prepare daily production schedules and ensure schedule adherence
  • Apply lean manufacturing best practices and driving continuous improvement in operating standards, people, processes and procedures
  • Effectively manage operations while meeting budgetary goals
  • Partner effectively with maintenance and engineering to ensure equipment reliability to meet production and quality requirements and to continuously improve production
  • Responsible for leading, coaching, training, developing, and discipline of shift employees
  • Openly and effectively communicate with team members to understand and meet goals and objectives and to solve problems efficiently and effectively.


Required Qualifications for the Production Supervisor:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree (or equivalent) in engineering, business or related field or commensurate experience
  • 5+ years of effective and/or progressive production management experience
  • Strong management and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees
  • Excellent working knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance
  • Leads with a sense of urgency, customer service, candor and excellence
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to develop a team environment promoting talent growth and mutual assistance
  • Experience with MRP systems and strong PC skills - MS office applications required
  • Lean manufacturing experience


Desired Qualifications for the Production Supervisor:

  • Experience with manufacturing maintenance, engineering and distribution
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, lean principles and other process improvement tools
  • Solid mechanical knowledge, including machine operation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
